Josh Nunes Quarterback

Josh Nunes Quarterback, The bench press started like every other one Josh Nunes had done throughout his Stanford career. As he lifted the weight above his chest, the former starting quarterback thought he felt his right shoulder pop. The weight crashed down violently on his upper body, and his spotter quickly pulled the bar off. Remarkably, Nunes gathered himself enough to sit up. He looked down and, for a moment, figured he’d be fine — until he saw a growing gap between his right chest muscle and the bone in his right shoulder. “It was pretty gnarly,” Nunes said. The incident completely tore off his right chest muscle in February, sidelined him for all of spring practices and led to his decision to officially retire from football Monday, ending a collegiate career filled with dramatic highs and devastating setbacks. “It’s kind of a tough way to go out,” Nunes said, disclosing details of his injury for the first time in a phone interview with The Associated Press. “Definitely faced a l...

Female DNA On Bomb

Female DNA On Bomb, On Monday, federal investigators disclosed that a bit of female DNA was found on a fragment of at least one of the pressure-cooker bombs that killed three people and wounded more than 200 others at the Boston Marathon. Also on Monday, the FBI visited suspected bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev's widow, Katherine Russell, to collect a DNA sample to see if it matches the material found on the bomb. Russell, 24, has been staying at her parents' home in Rhode Island since her husband's death, and the focus on her "is part of the wider effort by the FBI to determine who else may have played a role aiding the bombers," say Michael S. Schmidt and Serge F. Kovaleski in The New York Times. The authorities are looking at a range of possibilities, two senior law enforcement officials said, including that she could have — wittingly or unwittingly — destroyed evidence, helped the bombers evade capture, or even played a role in planning the attacks.... Peeping Toms Fall Through Ceiling

Peeping Toms Fall Through Ceiling, A pair of Georgia men seeking to secretly ogle some undressed women crashed through the ceiling of a movie theater restroom in a peeping Tom operation gone awry, police charge. The duo was arrested late Sunday night after they apparently went into the men’s bathroom at the Venture Cinema 12 in Duluth and climbed up into the ceiling. From there, the men navigated to the area above the nearby women’s restroom, where they allegedly spent time “invading the privacy” of female victims, according to arrest warrants. The suspects’s peeping concluded, however, when they tumbled through the bathroom’s drop ceiling, which apparently was not designed to hold the weight of two adult men. The pair’s plummet ended with what was likely a painful convergence of peeper with porcelain and partition. Gwinnett County Police Department officers busted relatives Eduard Alexander Kovynev, 27, and Eduard Petrovich Kovynev, 26, on peeping Tom, criminal damage to property, and...
