Tower climber falls dies, A Seattle City light crew and firefighters are working to recover the body of a person who climbed a power transmission tower in Seattle Friday morning.
Witnesses said they saw a man climb up the tower on 3rd Avenue Northwest and Northwest 36th Street just before a transformer explosion.
The man’s body was spotted on tower platform at about 150 feet high, although witnesses said the man had been seen some 40 feet higher.
Firefighters had to wait for City Light to turn off the power before they could climb up. Some residents in the area will be without electricity until the body is brought down.
